Health and Safety Procedures

We are continuing to closely monitor the development of COVID-19 and follow public health protocols. As we all navigate this current situation, the health and safety of our Eatin family remains our number one priority. With social distancing in place, we are here to make sure you can still treat your body right with healthy, homemade meals right to your doorstep.

Unfortunately, in-person food sharing experiences aren’t possible right now, but we are placing an emphasis on our health and safety protocols as we continue delivery services.

As of April 15th 2020, neither the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) not U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have reported any transmission of the COVID-19 virus by food or food packaging. Unlike food-borne gastrointestinal (GI) viruses like Norovirus or Hepatitis A, which often make people ill through contaminated food, SARS-Cov-2 ( which causes COVID-19) is a virus that causes respiratory illness. Food-borne exposure to this virus is not known to be a route of transmission

What are we changing?

Although foodborne exposure is not known to be a route of transmission, we are doing everything we can to ensure that all of our Eatin chefs and delivery partners are maintaining the highest possible standards of health and safety practices as we continue to navigate the situation. We are doing this by implementing updated guidelines daily from the City of Austin (COA), World Health Organization (WHO), and Center for Disease Control (CDC).

1. We are continuing to closely monitor the outbreak of COVID-19 and taking active measures to ensure the compliance of all parties with necessary health and safety protocol. Our home cooks are being provided with a surplus supply of hygiene products and protective equipment to protect the wellbeing of your family during this sensitive period.

2. All homemade meals prepared are subject to strict healthy and safety precautions. These include temperature checks, desinfecting any contact surfaces, uniform and grooming guidelines, and vetting the sources of all ingredients.

3. Our delivery partners are strictly adhering to the same necessary health and safety precautions to protect you and your family. Any packaging is externally desinfected after preparation before being double-packaged to minimize points of contact. Drivers are also equipped with extra sanitizers, anti-bacterial sprays, and disposable gloves/masks.
